Mayor Ivy Taylor : Confirmed panelist

Mayor Ivy TaylorMayor Ivy Taylor has spent nearly two decades in public service in San Antonio. From working on housing and community issues as an urban planner to serving nearly a decade on City Council, Mayor Taylor has dedicated her career to helping San Antonio thrive. Her passions are city planning and strengthening neighborhoods.

A graduate of Yale and University of North Carolina--Chapel Hill, Mayor Taylor became the first member of her family to attend college.

After college, Mayor Taylor took her talents to the University of North Carolina -- Chapel Hill where she earned her master’s degree in city planning. As a graduate student, she landed in San Antonio for a ten-week internship with The Affordable Housing Association. Although she didn’t plan to stay in San Antonio for long, her plans soon changed when she met the man of her dreams -- Rodney Taylor. After she finished her degree, Mayor Taylor moved back to the Alamo City and the couple got married. Their daughter, Morgan, was born in 2004.

Councilman Ron Nirenberg : Confirmed panelist

Councilman Ron NirenbergRon Nirenberg was first elected to San Antonio's District 8 City Council in 2013 and was reelected in 2015. During his tenure, Councilman Nirenberg has focused on solutions to San Antonio’s deepest challenges, including improving transportation infrastructure, ensuring the city’s sustainability through environmental and economic initiatives, embracing new technology, closing the workforce skills gap and creating jobs.

A graduate of Trinity University (B.A.) and the University of Pennsylvania (M.A.), Councilman Nirenberg and his wife Erika Prosper, a respected business and community leader, are proud parents of their son, Jonah.

Manuel Medina : Confirmed panelist

Councilman Ron NirenbergManuel Medina is a businessman who graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Electrical Engineering and went on to earn his Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a minor in Engineering Entrepreneurship. 

Blending his interest in politics, love of engineering, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit, he used emerging technologies to create state-of-the-art businesses in the political consulting industry.  His technology and political savvy brought success in electing candidates at the local, state, federal, and international levels. He is serving his third elected term as Chairman of the Bexar County Democratic Party.  In less than two years into his first term, he brought fiscal responsibility, ethical reform, and political victory to the Party.
